S I AZAD ALI
S I Azad Ali arrived in the UK on 28th April 1969 to study Business Management at Hamstead College. After his studies, the Indian restuarant Shapla Tandoori situated in Canvey Island, Essex became his first business, then followed a chain of restaurants; Milaad Tandoori in Hulbridge Essex, Milaad Tandoori Deal Kent, Shalima Tandoori in West Drayton Middlesex, Milaad Tandoori in Snodland Kent, Bengal Diners in Walmer Deal Kent, Paprika Dover Kent, Spice Garden in Gravesend Kent then finally La Contina Italian restaurant in Orpington.
Mr Ali is also the sole proprietor of Whitecliff group plus Whitecliff real estate Ltd.
In addition to his restaurants, he is the Chairman of several companies which include Surma group of companies in Sylhet (Land project), Surma homes BD Ltd in Dhaka and Zakir’s group of companies in Sylhet Bangladesh and he is also former sponsor director of Homeland Life Insurance Company Ltd Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Aside from his business interests, Mr Ali also incorporates much admirable involvement in other organisations, he is a founder trustee, treasurer and Chairman of Jagannath Pur British Bangla education trust as well as founder trustee, treasurer, Chairman, founder and co-ordinator of the Jagannath Pur Probash Collayan trust which provides free eye camp every year for a minimum of 5000 less fortunate people. Mr Ali also likes to contribute to providing better education for orphan and less fortunate children and he is also the International Public relation Secretary for the National Heart Foundation in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Mr ZAKIR KHAN
Mr Khan is the Community Affairs Manager of Canary Wharf Group. Mr. Khan is the only Bangladeshi employee of Canary Wharf Group at Management Level.
Mr TOMMY MIAH
Mr Miah is a Bangladeshi-born British celebrity chef, owner of the award-winning Raj Restaurant and founder of International Indian Chef of the Year Competition.
