Terrorist Attack at London Bridge – Saturday 3rd June
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we all had to learn of yet another terrorist attack in our country. Seven innocent lives were lost in the attack on London Bridge and 48 people injured on the night of Saturday 3rd June.
The UKBCCI deeply regrets this utterly depraved, mindless and abhorrent attack, both on people going about their daily lives and our democracy, coming in the wake as it does of the recent Manchester attack. We will not abide by this and nor will we ever let the acts of a few extremists ruin the lives of the many in our great country. Such extremism has no place in our society and not should it be tolerated in any society.
We are deeply sorry for the loss of life and those still suffering and our thoughts are with their families and loved ones. London and the UK stands firm and defiant.

UKBCCI assist in inspiring entrepreneurs and businesses by offering advice, sign posting, training and networking through seminars, which are addressed and attended by key government ministers, departments, organisations, various chambers of commerce and personnel from both the UK and Bangladesh. The organisation also has road shows, direct business to business links, programmes and projects. These not only build up confidence in new and existing businesses supported by UKBCCI, but also connect with them both in the UK and Bangladesh.
“The UKBCCI commenced its journey over three years ago and within that relatively short period it has established itself with fortitude and great respect within the business sector,” said UKBCCI President Rashid MBE. “Our inaugural awards last year, which were attended by over 800 guests from the business community along with MPs, VIPs and dignitaries, not only spread our name as an organisation further, it also showed that we are eager to celebrate what entrepreneurs in our community have to offer, whether in the UK or Bangladesh.”
UKBCCI Offers Condolences to the Victims of the Manchester Arena Attack Monday 22nd May
This tragic incident has caused our organisation great concern and distress and we want to express our wholehearted support and unity for the people of Manchester and the UK as a whole.
Such cowardly and inhumane attacks will never be tolerated, nor will any extremist ideology of any kind accepted in our great nation.
The UKBCCI stands firmly shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the UK with our hearts with those affected by the attack and our minds never giving in to terrorism.
Manchester and its brave people will continue living their lives as normal and we will not be defeated.
UKBCCI Meets with BEZA Delegation
The UKBCCI hosted a meeting at its offices with a delegation from the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) on 11th May, where the UKBCCI President Bajloor Rashid MBE met with BEZA’s Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury.
Discussions focussed on BEZA’s endeavours to establish Economic Zones in potential areas of Bangladesh with a view to encouraging rapid economic development through diversification of industries and augmentation of employment, production and export.
“This is a great opportunity for our members in the UKBCCI to invest in these economic zones in Bangladesh,” said President Rashid. “These zones offer a fantastic chance to invest over there and to reap the rewards of that investment in the best way possible. There are great incentive packages along with a one stop service not to mention all the logistics and amenities being available. I would urge everyone who wants to look for good investment opportunities in Bangladesh that they seriously consider what BEZA have to offer.”
