On behalf of UKBCCI, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Former Finance Minister of Bangladesh, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith who has passed away today on 30th April at United Hospital in Dhaka. He was 88.
On behalf of UKBCCI, we pray for the salvation of his departed soul and convey sympathy to his family members.
Born in 1934 in Sylhet, Mr. Muhith played many roles in his life. Apart from being a Finance Minister, he was an economist, diplomat, freedom fighter, language movement veteran, writer, and historian.
Condolences for Mr M A Rouf JP
On behalf of UKBCCI, we would like to extend our deepest condolences for
UKBCCI’s Senior Vice President Mr. M A Rouf (JP) who passed away on 24th
March at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi roji’un.
Mr. Rouf was a renowned business person in the UK and in Bangladesh. He was
the Founding Chairman of Britannia Group, Former Senior Vice President
of Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA), Director & Former Chairman of
Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. (MTB) in Bangladesh.
He was not only a colleague of UKBCCI Directors and members but also a
very close friend of few Directors. He was a lovely gentleman with a
kind heart, he will be missed by everyone in UKBCCI.
May Allah grant him the highest-ranking in Jannah InshaAllah. We send
his family our deepest condolences for the loss & we will keep him in
our duas.

Strategic partnership between UKBCCI and HSBC Bangladesh for supporting Non Resident Bangladeshis
The meeting with HSBC Bangladesh was held on 29 Nov 2021 at Izumi,
Dhaka. The attendees were Mr. Nazmul Islam Nuru President, UKBCCI, Mr.
Bajloor Rashid MBE Director & Former (Founding) President, UKBCCI, Mr. M
A Gani, Director, UKBCCI, Mr. Ahmed Saiful Islam, Country Head of
Wealth & Personal Banking, HSBC Bangladesh and Mr. Mashud Ikbal, Head of
Business Partnership, WPB, HSBC Bangladesh. They had a productive
discussion to initiate a strategic partnership between UKBCCI and HSBC
Bangladesh for supporting Non-Resident Bangladeshi investors and
professionals residing in the UK.
UKBCCI Business Event with FBCCI ( Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry) & MOU Signing Ceremony held on 4th November 2021 at Regents Lake
A highly successful Business Event by the UKBCCI with FBCCI (Federation
of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry) & MOU Signing Ceremony
was held at Regents Lake Banqueting in London.
FBCCI led a 50-members high-profile business delegation to the UK, headed by
the President Mr. Md Jashim Uddin, as the entourage of the Hon’ble Prime
Minister of Bangladesh.
The event was well attended by guests from the business community across
the UK, Commercial Counsellor from the Bangladesh High Commission S M
Jakaria Huq, an assortment of media as well as UKBCCI members and
directors with a view to strengthening trade and investment ties with UK
and Bangladesh.
Presided over by the UKBCCI directors, Barrister Anawar Miah & Ms. Rohema
Miah, the event also saw eloquent speeches made by the organization’s
Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE DBA, President Nazmul Islam Nuru and London
Regional President Oli Khan MBE. Vice President Jamal Uddin Mokoddus
delivered a Vote of thanks at the event.
The Business event proved a great success and was followed by MOU
signing and Dinner in the luxurious venue.

The Meeting with Mr Atiqul Islam, Honourable Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation was held on Wednesday 3rd November 2021 at the Royal China London, Docklands, 30 Westferry Circus, London E14 8RR. In attendance were directors of UKBCCI presented flower bouquet and crest to the Mayor.
