At the UKBCCI Board meeting on April 18th, there was a great deal of excitement as the Directors unanimously agreed to start the process of setting up a Bangladesh region. Further details of its progression will be made available in the coming months. A date was also set for the next Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards which will take place on October 15th 2017 at the London Hilton – Park Lane.

After the resounding success of its inaugural Business Awards last year, the UKBCCI are proud to announce the date of the 2017 Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner. It will take place at the London Hilton – Park Lane on October 15th.
UKBCCI Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE launches autobiography in London

The book, ‘King Prawn’, offers a fascinating insight into one of the UK’s leading British Bangladeshi entrepreneurs and how he achieved his dream. It also offers inspiration and advice for those wishing to walk a similar path to success.
Attending the launch were various dignitaries and leading business people including: Lord Desai, John Blake, Lord Sheikh and Lady Sheikh Salma Ahmed, Lord Bilamoria, Baroness Pola Uddin, HE Bangladesh High Commissioner Nazmul Quanine, David Mowat MP, Former British High Commissioners, Dr David Cater, Stephen Evan CMG OBE and Community leaders.
The other photo shows Mr Ahmed in his capacity as UKBCCI Chairman, along with Bajloor Rashid MBE-UKBCCI President, and other UKBCCI Directors, who all attended the launch.

MD of Al Haramain Group of Companies meets with UKBCCI Directors
Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman (Nasir), Managing Director of Al Haramain Group of Companies, was in the UK to meet with the UKBCCI on 31st January. Present at the meeting, which took place at the UKBCCI offices, were the organisation’s President Bajloor Rashid MBE, along with its Director of Financial Affairs, Nazmul Islam Nuru, as well as directors Oli Khan, Harun Miah and Abdul Quayum Khalique (Jamal).
Neela Farzana Hossain – UKBCCI Director awarded Fellowship
UKBCCI Director and award winning Managing Director of Neela’s Homes Ltd, Neela Farzana Hossain, has been awarded the Fellowship of The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). “I’m very happy and proud to have received this honour,” said an elated Hossain. ” It offers me great encouragement and to do more, not just for our community, but also for society as a whole.” The RSA is a London-based, British organisation committed to finding practical solutions to social challenges. Its founding charter has been to ‘embolden enterprise, enlarge science, refine art, improve our manufacturers and extend our commerce.’
