UKBCCI Business networking Event with FBCCI ( Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry) & MOU Signing Ceremony held on 28th November 2023 at Regents Lake, London

A highly successful Business Event by the UKBCCI with the largest delegation of FBCCI (Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry) & MOU Signing Ceremony was held at Regents Lake Banqueting in London.

FBCCI led a high-profile business delegation to the UK, headed by the President Mr. Mr. Mahbubul Alam. The event was well attended by guests from the business community across the UK, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh High Commission, Mr. Mohammad Hazrat Ali Khan, an assortment of media as well as UKBCCI members and directors with a view to strengthening trade and investment ties with UK
and Bangladesh. Presided over by the UKBCCI directors, Barrister Anawar Miah & Ms. Rohema Miah, the event also saw eloquent speeches made by the organization’s President M G Moula Miah MBE, Former President Nazmul Islam Nuru, Midlands Regional President Imam Ahmad and East of England Regional President Siddqur Rahman Joynal. Finance Director Kamru Ali delivered a Vote of thanks at the event.

The Business event proved a great success and was followed by MOU signing and Dinner in the luxurious venue.

The UKBCCI Board Meeting was held on 17th November 2022 at the UKBCCI office. There was a comprehensive agenda with many things discussed. A positive and well attended meeting ensued regarding future events. The Directors welcomed the new Director Mr Imam Uddin Ahmad to the Board Meeting.

UKBCCI Former President recognised in BB Who’s Who 2022 Award

UKBCCI Former President Mr Nazmul Islam Nuru, became the proud recipient of a prestigious British Bangladeshi Who’s Who award for his work in the business field. The Gala Event took place on Tuesday 8th November at the Meridian Grand in London. The spectacular evening saw a number of outstanding individuals recognised, of which Mr Nuru was one.

Mr Nazmul Islam Nuru has established himself as a businessman since the 1980s in the UK as well as Bangladesh. He has connections in various businesses as well as being involved within the community in numerous charity organisations.

He was the former President of UK Bangladesh Catalysts of Commerce & Industry (UKBCCI) and was an Independent Director of Shahjalal Islamic Bank Bangladesh Ltd where he represented 75,000 shareholders. He is also the founder of the renowned Kushiara Islamic Hospital in Golapgonj. He has a portfolio of properties in the UK are under N N Asset Holding Ltd and also includes Osmani Housing Prokolpo, airport road in Sylhet.

He has restaurants which include Viceroy Group in UK. Mr Nuru is the Chairman of the Windsor Hotel & Resort, Airport Road, Sylhet, Bangladesh, Chairman of Monica Enterprise Ltd, Bag Bari, Sylhet, Director of Holy City, Holy, Centre, Zinda Bazar, Sylhet.

Mr Nuru’s contributions towards the community cannot go unnoticeable. He is very recognised within the Bangladeshi community having previously been a Trustee of Bangladesh Centre and a current member of Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA).

He is also a donor of Heart Foundation, Sylhet, Jalalabad Eye Hospital and a Member of Red Crescent Society Sylhet and Diabetics Society. He is also donor member of MC Academic College Gulapgonj, Sylhet, Asirgonj High School & College & Shahjalal Academic High School in Sylhet. Some of his previous positions held have been the President of Gulapganj Education Trust UK, Treasurer of Bangladesh Caterers Association and a Managing Director of Sylheter DAK weekly UK. Mr Nuru was also a Member of management Committee of Bangladesh Welfare Association and of Shaheed Minar at Altab Ali Park.
