UKBCCI RoadShow and Networking Event in South West Region

UKBCCI successfully held another successful event, this time making an introduction in the South West of England. Special appreciation goes to UKBCCI Director, Karim Miah Shamim, for hosting this amazing Roadshow and Networking event in the Region. This marks the beginning of many more events to come in the area.

UKBCCI would like to extend its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the event, especially those who marked their presence, both from the South West and from other regions. Your support was essential in making it a fruitful event.

UKBCCI hold AGM

The UKBCCI successfully organised its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23rd July 2024 at the Impression Events Hall, Westham.

The event featured a comprehensive agenda, highlighting the organisation’s work and achievements, as well the presentation of annual accounts. Attendees were welcomed by President Mr M G Moula Miah MBE, and the Chairman Mr Iqbal Ahmed OBE addressed the audience.

President Mr M G Moula Miah MBE also presented the annual report. Finance Director Mr Kamru Ali presented the annual accounts of 2022 and 2023, which were subsequently approved by the Members. Regional President Mr Imam Uddin Ahmad and Head of the East of England Region Mr Siddqur Rahman Joynal also presented their respective reports. The vote of thanks was delivered by Senior Vice President Mr Jamal Uddin Mokoddus. The event was conducted by Ms Rohema Miah and attended by UKBCCI Directors, Members and Media representatives.

Vannamei Shrimp Farming Intensive Production

The Seamark Group has commenced the production of high-yielding Vannamei Shrimp, marking the first such initiative in Bangladesh. Led by the UKBCCI and Seamark Group Chairman, Mr. Iqbal Ahmed OBE, the project began construction in January 2023. The first harvest took place on July 9th at Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Bangladesh.

The farm features a laboratory equipped for physicochemical and microbiological testing of water. No banned chemicals or antibiotics are used, and all wastewater undergoes treatment before being released into the environment.

Vannamei shrimp, a high-yielding species from the eastern Pacific Ocean, is now widely cultivated worldwide due to its high yield and disease resistance.

A view exchange meeting of UKBCCI with BBPC

UKBCCI organised a view exchange meeting with Bangladesh Business Promotion Council (BBPC) on 28^th May, at the UKBCCI office.

The delegation included the Joint Secretary & Deputy Secretary from Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh. The meeting was attended by UKBCCI Directors and Members and the Commercial Counsellor of Bangladesh High Commission, London Mr Tanvir Azim.

Opportunities for export diversification in the UK
Promotion of Bangladeshi plastic and other potential products in the mainstream UK market
