Latest News Regarding Covid-19 in England
From today, Monday 1 June, groups of up to six people will be able to meet outdoors in England provided strict social distancing guidelines are followed. Outdoor markets and car showrooms will also be able to reopen.
Prime Minister, Boris Johnson announced the latest measures last week.
Additionally, All non-essential retailers will be able to reopen in England from 15 June, as part of plans to further ease the lockdown.

2019 UKBCCI Lifetime Achievement Award recipient currently fighting Covid-19
UKBCCI Directors, members and their families would like to extend their prayers to Mr. Syed Manzur Elahi, who is currently suffering from Covid-19.
Additionally, it is with great sadness that we report that his wife, Niloufer Manzur, died from the novel coronavirus last week. She was the founder and principal of Sunbeams School.
Mr Elahi who was honoured with a UKBCCI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, is the Founding Chairman of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. (MTB) and Pioneer Insurance Company Limited and currently serving as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the bank. He is the Chairman of Apex Group, a leading business conglomerate in Bangladesh, and has won various awards for his contributions to trade and industry.
Besides being an eminent industrialist, he was also appointed Adviser to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh, twice (1996 & 2001), for his leadership qualities, professionalism and non-partisanship.
We send him our deepest condolences for the loss of his beloved wife and we wish him a full recovery.

UKBCCI Deliver Meals to NHS Frontline Staff
The UKBCCI provided meals to NHS frontline staff at Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital in London yesterday – 19th May 2020.
UKBCCI President Mr Bajloor Rashid MBE , along with Directors Mr Oli Khan, Mr Saiful Alam and Mr Siddiqur Rahman Joynal volunteered their time in delivering a selection of two hundred meals as a mark of gratitude.
The food was kindly donated by the sponsors of this initiative all based in Hertfordshire: Raj Garden in Bushey, Surma in Stevenage and the Prince of Bengal in Watford. The owners of these restaurants are all directors of the UKBCCI.
