The UKBCCI Board Meeting was held on 1st November 2018 at the UKBCCI office. There was a comprehensive agenda with many things discussed. A well attended and positive meeting took place regarding the future events of UKBCCI. Watch this space for developments in 2019.

Bajloor Rashid MBE receives new award from Curry Life
Our President, Bajloor Rashid MBE was honoured at the Curry Life Awards in October. He is the first recipient of the new award, known as the Curry Life MA Rahim Memorial Award, which is dedicated to the life of M A Rahim and was the main award of the night. It was awarded due to Bajloor’s outstanding contribution to the curry industry, as well as the wider community. Photos show him proudly receiving the memorial award from Rushanara Ali MP. On stage were Jon Snow, Syed Pasha, Afsana Rahim and Nawaz Rahim, along with Bajloor’s family.
UKBCCI Summer London Roadshow & Networking Event proves a resounding success
The UKBCCI Summer London Roadshow & Networking Event took place on 18th July 2018 at the stunning venue Chigwell Hall in Chigwell, helping businesses and getting our message around the country.
Hosted by UKBCCI Director Kamru Ali, the event targeted young entrepreneurs too. Attracting over a 100 businesses and community leaders from across the UK, the event highlighted the opportunities, benefits and business potential that an alliance between the UK and Bangladesh could yield.
The networking event proved a great success and was followed by lunch and photo session in the luxurious venue surroundings of the Hall.
Tax Planning and Hedging Investment Meeting
The UK Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce and Industry organised a meeting and discussion on “Tax Planning” and “Hedging Investment & Guaranteed Return ” on the 2 May 2018 at the UKBCCI HQ.

The presentation was carried out by the accountant Mr Zaki Husein of Kaiser & Associates.
UKBCCI Chairman supporting Rohingya refugees
UKBCCI Chairman Mr Iqbal Ahmed OBE DBA organised a charity mission to Ukiya Rohingya refugee camps, Cox Bazar, Bangladesh.
Mr Ahmed along with The Iqbal Bros Foundation organised a much needed fund raising Gala Dinner at Vermilion Grand Hall in Manchester and a Gala Iftar & Dinner at the Gulshan Club, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Their trip to the Ukiya camp in Cox Bazar was also a resounding success, with Mr Ahmed and the team successfully distributing all reliefs to the refugees.
Mr Ahmed thanked all those who contributed, for their support and teamwork.
Through the mission’s success, he hopes that people will come forward with further
help and support for this desperate human crisis.
