UKBCCI Director and award winning Managing Director of Neela’s Homes Ltd, Neela Farzana Hossain, has been awarded the Fellowship of The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). “I’m very happy and proud to have received this honour,” said an elated Hossain. ” It offers me great encouragement and to do more, not just for our community, but also for society as a whole.” The RSA is a London-based, British organisation committed to finding practical solutions to social challenges. Its founding charter has been to ‘embolden enterprise, enlarge science, refine art, improve our manufacturers and extend our commerce.’

UKBCCI Director and Brothers win Prestigious Award
Brothers Abdul Quayum Khalique (Jamal), who is also a UKBCCI director, Abdul Khalique (Junel) and Abdul Muhith (Joynal), all three of whom own the internationally renowned Taj Stores in London’s famed Brick Lane, were awarded one of the prestigious British Bangladeshi Who’s Who 2016 awards at the gala dinner held on 17th of November at Meridian Grand in London. The brothers received their award from H. E. Mr Nazmul Quaunine, Bangladesh high commissioner to the UK, who was accompanied by Mohammed Shofiqul Islam, Country Manager of Biman Bangladesh Airlines UK and Ireland.
UKBCCI meet with a delegation from the Bangladesh Tourism Board
The UKBCCI met with a delegation from the Bangladesh Tourism Board on 9th September to discuss the potential of promoting Bangladesh as a travel and tourism destination for visitors from the UK.
Present from the UKBCCI were President Bajloor Rashid MBE along with directors including Jamal Uddin Mokoddus, Nazmul Islam Nuru, Anawar Babul Miah, Oli Khan, Saiful Alam, Farzana Hossain Neela, Jamal Khalique and Harun Miah. The tourism delegation was headed by Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, MP, Member, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil Aviation and Tourism along with S. M. Ghulam Farooque, Secretary, Minister of Civil Aviation and also Bhubon Chandra Biswas, Director (Joint Secretary), Bangladesh Tourism Board as well other representatives. Present from the Bangladesh High Commission was Sharifa Khan, Commercial Councillor.
