UKBCCI held a meeting with Mr. Najmus Ahmed Albab, Founder and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust (BANCAT).
During the discussion, Mr. Albab shared BANCAT’s mission to engage the British Bangladeshi community in the UK to support their initiatives, including the launch of Friends of BANCAT UK. He emphasised the importance of recognising cancer as a national cause, addressing disparities in care, and extending outreach to underserved communities.
UKBCCI reaffirmed its commitment to support BANCAT’s vision, pledging assistance from its members and affiliates across the UK. This partnership marks a significant step in uniting international expertise and resources to strengthen cancer care initiatives in Bangladesh.
The meeting was attended by UKBCCI President M G Moula Miah MBE, Founding President Bajloor Rashid MBE, International Trade Affairs Director Ms. Rohema Miah, Deputy of International Trade Affairs Director Mrs. Farzana Hossain Neela FRSA, and Membership Director Mr. Saiful Alam.
In particular, the collaboration will contribute to the development of BANCAT’s landmark project — a 250-bed Cancer Care Village in Bangladesh — which aims to provide comprehensive care, rehabilitation, and hope for patients and their families.
